Classics Lecturer to represent University in USA

Dr Annalisa Marzano, Lecturer in Classics

Dr Annalisa Marzano, Lecturer in the Department of Classics has been awarded a prestigious fellowship to spend the academic year 2010/11 (October-June) as Visiting Research Scholar at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World at New York University.

While in New York, Annalisa will complete her monograph The Exploitation of Marine Resources in the Roman Mediterranean. She will also give research seminars and public lectures.

Very importantly, her time in New York will mean that Annalisa will be able to represent the University of Reading promoting the University's MA programmes in talks to undergraduate institutions in the USA.

Head of the Classics Department, Professor Barbara Goff said; ‘Annalisa will be an excellent ambassador abroad for us.  Of course we'll miss her!'

Annalisa is the MA Coordinator and Liaison Officer with the Department of Archaeology. Her research interests rest in the spheres of Roman social and economic history. She is also a member of the International Advisory Panel for the research programme 'Language, Script, and Acculturation in Graeco-Roman Egypt', Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.
