'Thanks to all Reading staff whose hard work has placed Reading first, putting us ahead of every other University in the 1994 Group that took part in the ISB survey.'
This is the fourth academic year that Reading has participated in the International Student Barometer (ISB) - the largest survey of the international student experience in the world. Over 100 institutions worldwide took part.
The Autumn Wave ran in October 2009 and measured the Application to Arrival Experience of new starters as well as the Learning, Living and Support Service experiences of international students.
For the Learning Experience and Support Services Reading ranked first in the 1994 Group index, coming second for the Living Experience.
Caroline Bysh, Director of Marketing and Recruitment said: "I am delighted with the results, being number one is a difficult position to maintain. This year's result shows continued effort on behalf of everyone in the University."
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gordon Marshall, commented: "Thanks to all Reading staff whose hard work has placed Reading first, putting us ahead of every other University in the 1994 Group that took part in the ISB survey."
The University has a long tradition of welcoming international students; the first international student at Reading arrived in 1904 and came from Kenya. Since then our international student population has grown to around 3,000 students from 125 countries worldwide. This international body of students represents many different cultures and backgrounds. This creates a stimulating, vibrant and multi-cultural environment of which all members of the University are proud.
