The Foxhill Lawyers is a team representing the School of Law at the University of Reading.
The Foxhill Lawyers 2010: Professor Patricia Leopold, Professor Rosemary Auchmuty, Dr Stuart Lakin, Dr Anne Thies, Rachel and Anna Horton, Sam McIntosh and Val Baker are walking to raise funds for the London Legal Support Trust which supports free legal advice agencies in London and the Home Counties.
Funds raised are targeted to assist requests for help from the centres. This financial aid helps the legal centres overcome funding crises, develop new services, support appeals and improve their premises.
"We are especially supporting free legal advice in Berkshire where the unmet need is great," said Professor Leopold, Director of Enterprise in the School of Law.
Funds raised by the Foxhill Lawyers in 2009 went towards the running of Reading's first free legal advice centre which opened in December 2009 at the premises of Communicare at Cemetery Junction.
Law students assist solicitors from Shoosmiths to give help and advice to clients referred to the clinic by Communicare.
Funds raised in 2010 will also go towards this Clinic. Donations can be made via the website www.justgiving.com/Foxhill-Lawyers
