Changes to Research and Enterprise Services

Changes that have been made to the support which is provided to research and enterprise activities across the University in order to provide a higher level of support to Schools with research funding, to support the development of research excellence and to support the University's Research and Enterprise strategies.
Support provided from the Research and Enterprise Services now comprises four key teams:
1. Research and Enterprise Development, led by Dr Anne-Marie van Dodeweerd are the principal source of support to Schools to enhance research funding and support the development of research excellence. The Research and Enterprise Development team are the first point of contact for queries from academics and researchers about research and enterprise funding (including collaborative research with industry, consultancy and CPD).
The Research and Enterprise Development Managers (all based in Room 201 in Whiteknights House) should be the primary contact for all research and enterprise queries:

2. Academic Legal Services, led by Andrew Carlin, will provide legal advice and contract support to academic and administrative colleagues in schools and central departments where the University is working with an outside body to exchange University (staff) expertise, knowledge, intellectual property and related resources to bring a benefit to the University. Academic Legal Services also provide advice and support on the protection and exploitation of intellectual property conceived or developed as part of research or teaching.
The Research and Enterprise Contract Managers (all based in Room 201 in Whiteknights House) are the primary contact for any staff seeking assistance in legal matters relating to research and enterprise activities and are listed below:

3. The Strategic Programmes team, led by Kendra Gittus and located in the Knowledge Transfer Centre in Systems Engineering, is a small and very focused team providing support to the PVC Research, Deans and Heads of School on the development and delivery of research and enterprise opportunities that are of strategic importance to the University and endorsed by senior management.
4. The Knowledge Transfer Partnership team, also continue to support the development and delivery of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships also located in Systems Engineering and led by Susan Matos. Staff with an interest in developing KTP relationships with companies should contact:

For completeness, staff should be aware that Research Accounts, led by Liz Firth, although co-located with the Research and Enterprise Development team, are part of the University's Finance function and any queries relating to the post-award administration and management of grants should be passed directly to that team.
