Whiteknights Studio Trail: 10 Year Anniversary Special 19 and 20 June 2010
Sunday, 06 June 2010
The University is playing a larger role in the Trail this year, offering several venues, exhibitions and events.
Whiteknights studio trail was conceived in the summer of 2000 when three local artists met to discuss the exciting idea of a walking trail of artists' studios in the area around the University of Reading, where so many talented and creative people live. Its aim was and still is, to promote and encourage interest in the artistic activities of local people working in the arts.
The trail this year will welcome new and returning exhibitors with many extra venues and events in the area. These include a University Chorus concert at 7.30pm on Saturday 19 June in the Great Hall, a film themed with the Trail screened by Reading Film Theatre on Thursday 17 June and the integration of the University's Fine Art Final Degree Show into the show at Earley Gate. Several exhibitors will be based at the University's Museum of English Rural Life and guests will be able to take refreshment at the newly refurbished Eat and Drink at London Road (formerly the Cotton Club).
Reading University drama Society (RUDS) are staging their open air productions of Shakespeare's As You like it and Hamlet on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 June at the London Road Campus. There is more information here: http://www.ticketsource.co.uk/rudstickets
