New Dean and Deputy Dean for Henley Business School

Tuesday, 13 July 2010

Professor John Board

Professor John Board

Professor John Board has been appointed the new Dean of Henley Business School and Professor Ginny Gibson the Deputy Dean. Both will take up their new roles on 1 October 2010 but will continue to have strategic roles in the ICMA Centre and the School of Real Estate and Planning, respectively.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gordon Marshall, said: "In these uncertain economic times, business schools have a crucial role to play. John and Ginny will lead Henley Business School as it continues to develop the leadership skills, based on strong personal values, responsibility, strategic thinking and ethics, which help organisations plot a course towards future growth.

"I would also like to pay tribute to Professor Chris Bones, who steps down as Dean this October. He has been instrumental in the smooth creation of Henley Business School from the merger of Henley Management College and the University of Reading and leaves behind the legacy of having created one of the largest, and most successful, business schools in the world."

Professor Bones announced his intention to step down as Dean last year and will do so this October. Replacement appointments within the ICMA Centre and REP will be announced in due course.
