Senior staff changes for 2010-11

As ever at this time of year, there are a number of changes in roles and personnel among senior staff. From 1 August, Pro-Vice-Chancellors, Faculty Deans and School Heads will be as follows:

Background to PVC roles
Professor Mithen will take on a new role as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for International and External Engagement. This reflects the University's drive to become a global University, one in which teaching, research and enterprise are conceived, planned and delivered with explicit relevance to global needs and issues. Professor Williams in her new role as Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation will focus on areas of research excellence and ensure our research is aligned with national and global challenges and encourage the development of strong sustained relationships with business and other users to increase the economic and social impact of our research.
Professor Robson has been re-appointed for a further four years as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Teaching and Learning, a vital role for the University. He will be leading the University's Employability Project.

Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences - Professor Dianne Berry - appointed for one year. Dianne will also be the first Director of Postgraduate Research Studies and Research Development
Dianne's main office will be located in room G10 of Old Whiteknights House and her extension number there will be 4750 (d.c.berry@reading.ac.uk). However, during 2010/11 Gill Scott, PA to the Dean of Social Sciences, will be Dianne's PA and will manage Dianne's diary. Gill can be contacted on extension 8183. email g.m.scott@reading.ac.uk
In view of this, all postal correspondence for Dianne, whether related to the Faculty of Social Sciences or to the Graduate School, should be directed to the FoSS Faculty Office.
