Sunday, 12 September 2010

Road repairs to Queens Drive on the Whiteknights Campus were scheduled to take place from Saturday 11 September to Sunday 19 September which meant that there would be no vehicular access to the University via Queens Drive. However, work has gone well and Queens Drive is now open.

A phased programme of resurfacing of Queens Drive and the road in front of Whiteknights House will be taking place during next week:

Phase One

The road in front of Whiteknights House will be closed over the weekend of the 11 - 12 September for the current surface to be planed off. The 20 minute parking bays and the Zebra crossing will be out of use, but the footpath will remain open.

The road will be left in the planed state until resurfacing can be completed on the following weekend.

The work around Chancellors way near car park 6 will need traffic management systems.  The resurfacing will be completed the following weekend.  The access to Car Park 5 will be kept open for essential traffic only.

Phase Two

The Queens Drive road will be resurfaced from FMD to the SportsPark entrance. The roundabout in front of FMD and the SportsPark entrance will be left open.

Apologies for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and cooperation.
