Vice-Chancellor's talks to staff - available to view online

Friday, 15 October 2010

Professor Gordon Marshall

For those who were unable to attend the Vice-Chancellor's talks this week, there is a short video interview with Professor Marshall, available online, which includes the broad areas that he has been covering.

It was recorded on Wednesday 6 October, before the publication of the Browne Report, but the content of the interview previews the Report and its implications for our University as well as Government cuts to the sector, which are expected to be announced in the Comprehensive Spending Review on 20 October.

The Vice-Chancellor also reflects on the environmental challenge that the University needs to address as well as the progress that the University has made in recent years. The latter, he states, has huge significance for the strength of our market position as we enter a new era for Higher Education. Professor Marshall also shares his vision for the University as we develop our internationalisation agenda.

The interview can be viewed on the Vice-Chancellor's website.

The next Vice-Chancellor's talks to staff will take place in the first few weeks of the Spring Term 2011.
