With only a few weeks until Christmas, we have put together a handy guide to all of the upcoming festive events that are taking place around the University...
Wednesday 1st - Saturday 4th December
'Stories by Starlight'
6.30pm-9.00pm, Greenlands campus, Henley
The charity, KidsOut is opening up a sparkling world of magic and imagination at Greenlands for children and families in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
Tickets cost £10 for a family of four, or £2.50 each but under-fives, charities and organisations working with children can attend for free. To book your visit please contact Gail at KidsOut on 01525 243210. Visit the 'Stories by Starlight' webpage.

Tuesday 7th December
A Festive Fair Trade Fayre!
12.00-2.00pm, Palmer Foyer
Fairly traded and local Christmas goods from Traidcraft, LUSH, Oxfam, RISC, Shakhti, and more.
Products include: wrapping paper and cards, jewellery, food, banana fibre mats and bags from South India, wood carvings, clothing and Christmas ordering from Traidcraft.
There will also be mulled wine and mince pies, and carols from the Gospel Choir outside Palmer between 12.00pm and 1.00pm.
Organised by the student People and Planet Society and the Chaplaincy.

Music@Reading Christmas Concert 2010
7.30pm, Great Hall, London Road
Family Christmas at the University - University of Reading Chorus, Chamber Choir, Gospel Choir and Wind Band present a programme of music for Christmas with lots for you to sing!

Wednesday 15th December
Chaplaincy and Reading University Music Society present - Christmas Concert 2010
5.30pm - 8.30pm, G10 Palmer building
There will be performances by the Wind Band, Flute Choir, Gospel Choir, University Singers and Jazz Band with readings and reflections from the Chaplaincy. The event is free (no tickets are needed), and mulled wine and mince pies will be served afterwards.
Monday 20th December
Children's Christmas Lecture: 'Our blood is amazing'
11.00am and 2.00pm, Henley Business School, Whiteknights
By Professor Jon Gibbins from the School of Biological Sciences
This lecture will look at blood, what it is, how it works and the incredible things it can do. Suitable for children aged seven and upwards (please note that all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult). Booking is essential for this event. Please email events@reading.ac.uk to book.
Cafés at Christmas
All campus cafés are now selling mince pies, and cranberry, orange and white chocolate muffins are available in Café Libro, Index and HumSS.
NB. The University is closed from Friday 24th December 2010 to Monday 3rd January 2011 (inclusive).
