Revamped Park House due to open its doors

The bar and dining facilities in Park House will re-open for customers on Monday 31 January 2011, along with a brand new a la carte restaurant.

The newly decorated bar area will continue to offer breakfast, lunch and an evening bar menu, with no membership restrictions. The menu and service will remain the same, but behind the scenes the kitchen has been modernised, to accommodate the high quality food produced in the Central Kitchen.

Blandford's, the new a la carte restaurant on the Whiteknights campus, is due to open on the same day, in the old newspaper lounge and breakfast room on the ground floor of Park House. Replacing the Orangerie in Black Horse House, this high quality yet relaxed venue will be an ideal space for staff to host visiting guests for a private lunch or dinner, as well as a great place to enjoy lunch with colleagues.

Blandford's will be open for breakfast from 7.30am to 9.30am - booking is not required. Lunch service begins at midday and, whilst restaurant staff will do their best to accommodate diners on the day, booking in advance is strongly advisable, especially if there is a large group or if staff are hosting important guests.

This venue will also be bookable for group events or private dinners in the evenings. In addition, the two private dining rooms upstairs in Park House are still available for bookings (email c.bookings@reading.ac.uk).

Special staff event - come and try out the facilities in Park House

Members of the University are invited to a special staff launch event, which is taking place on Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 February, where we plan to showcase the new facilities at 'Eat and Drink at Park House' (featuring both the Park House bar and Blandford's). There will be a chance to sample the new menus and beverages, look around the facilities, and talk to Park House staff about the services on offer.
