The University's Staffing Committee has agreed that reasonable time-off would be granted to any member of staff participating in the Games in a formal capacity (for example as a competitor or a coach).

Members of staff who wish to act as a general volunteer are asked to take this time as part of their annual leave (subject to the normal approvals).

Are you going to be involved in the 2012 Olympics in any way?

The Communications Office would like to hear from any member of staff or department that will be involved in any way in the forthcoming Olympics or Paralympic Games.

We would like to hear from you if you are participating, coaching, volunteering, providing accommodation or contributing in any way.

A University such as ours with so many talented athletes, skilled staff and the excellent facilities we have to offer will most certainly be playing an important role and we would very much like to celebrate that.

Email us on communications@reading.ac.uk and tell us what your role will be.
