Monday, 28 February 2011

CommUnity front cover

'If any members of staff have any stories they would like to be considered for the next issue then please do get in touch.' Ann Westgarth, Community Relations Manager

The latest edition of the biannual publication, CommUnity, is now available online.

The magazine contains information about what is happening at the University and highlights positive ways in which the University engages with the local community. It also carries listings of the variety of events and activities open to members of the public.

In the coming week hard copies of CommUnity will be delivered to over 15,000 local residents, councillors and schools to keep them up to date with the goings on at the University.

Ann Westgarth, Community Relations Manager, who produces the magazine said: "It's a pleasure to be able to feature the positive contribution that the University and its students make to the community, and I know that many people take part in the events listed in the magazine as a result of receiving it. If any members of staff have any stories they would like to be considered for the next issue then please do get in touch."

In the current issue

  • Our graduates' networks benefit Reading abroad
  • University students' volunteering activities are bringing wide ranging benefits to the local community as well as developing individuals' skills
  • New facilities are providing top quality teaching, learning, business and leisure opportunities
  • Support our important research work by volunteering for studies or donate to our Annual Fund

The publication can be viewed online on the University Publications website or if you would like hard copies, please email Becki Rassell - b.rassell@reading.ac.uk.
