Litter picking

'We really appreciate any time than people can give towards the Whiteknights litter pick - the more people we have, the more rubbish we can remove from campus!' Jenny Honeybill, Environment and Sustainability Coordinator

After the success of last April's 'Spring Clean', the Environment, Energy and Sustainability Team (EEST) are hosting another litter pick this Friday, to coincide with Reading RESCUE (Rivers and Environmental Spaces Clean Up) 2011.

EEST are inviting all staff and students to join the group of eager volunteers to litter pick on the Whiteknights campus from 12pm until 3pm on Friday 11 March.

Reading RESCUE is a major annual spring clean event that takes place across the town, in association with Reading Borough Council and other Reading organisations. This is a chance to do your bit and help improve the campus environment.

Jenny Honeybill, Environment and Sustainability Coordinator, said: "Whether you can spare an hour of your lunch break or you're available for the entire session, we really appreciate any time than people can give towards the Whiteknights litter pick. The more people we have, the more rubbish we can remove from campus!

"We'll be meeting at the Palmer building to greet the first set of volunteers at 12pm. So we can work out which areas we can target in the allotted time, it would be appreciated if you could email us to register your interest and the hours you are available."
