IWLP are introducing two new language courses open to all staff
Refresh your skills with exciting new courses from the Institution-Wide Language Programme (IWLP). This year, IWLP is proud to be introducing two new modules - one in French and another in Spanish - open to all members of the University community.
Each year 700 members of the University (undergraduate and post-graduate students in all disciplines, staff and alumni) embark on a course with IWLP either to learn a new language or to improve their existing language skills and intercultural competence, either for academic or for other purposes.
These hands-on modules literally bring language learning into the 21st century, with a focus on current affairs and contemporary issues. Bringing student interests into the classroom and enabling them to collaborate on project work using a variety of media sources, these modules provide a gentle and fun refresher to the language learning process while advancing student understanding, awareness and skill.
The new courses, LA1MF Le Monde Français and LA1ME El Mundo Español will be running from Monday 13 June to Wednesday 29 June 2011 and they are open to all. For accredited students the courses are worth 10 credits (tell your students!).
