A conversation with the Archbishop of Canterbury
Wednesday, 13 April 2011
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams will be visiting the University on Friday 6 May as part of his four day tour of the diocese of Oxford. Dr Williams will be in conversation on the subject of 'Global citizenship: limits and responsibilities'.
Dr Williams will be joined in conversation by Professor Simon Caney (University of Oxford) and Professor Richard Bellamy (UCL). The visit is hosted by the Centre for Political Theory in the University of Reading's School of Politics and International Relations.
The discussion will examine how, in an age of challenges that transcend national boundaries - climate change, poverty, financial collapse, impending food shortages, etc - citizenship can be recast in global terms to provide moral and political resources fit to tackle the problems?
