Your chance to win an evening at the Nirvana Spa
Friday, 10 June 2011
Our new staff support network needs a name. Enter the competition to win an evening at the spa
In keeping with the University's strong commitment to employee health and well-being, the Staff Portal now carries a special tab (see above between events and small ads) called ‘supporting you'.
This tab is now the gateway to a hub of information on all the University services which are part of the wider support network. This is designed to be a one-stop-shop for all staff support services under the headings of:
- Health and well-being
- Personal and professional development
- Employment support
- Social activities
- Campus facilities
We really hope that you find this addition to the Portal helpful and would really appreciate your feedback. Please feel free to email cstd@reading.ac.uk
The University has also committed to create a new ‘Staff Support Network'- a group of volunteers who you will be able to access about the issues we face together on a day-to-day basis. Organized by staff for staff, it will be confidential and neutral and everyone will be listened to in a non-judgmental way and directed to sources of help and support, if required.
This is where the competition comes in. This new group will need a name. If you would like to win an evening at the Nirvana Spa in Winnersh and can think of a suitable name for the group, email your idea to communications@reading.ac.uk using ‘Staff Support Network' as the subject by 5.00pm on Friday 17 June.
Don't forget the "Take a Break!" events that have been arranged; on 23 June 2011 at Greenlands and on 28 June 2011 at Whiteknights. On these days there will be a number of different activities/workshops/seminars taking place and stands to visit that will highlight the support services that are freely accessible to all staff and could make a positive difference to our working lives. More news on "Take a Break!" to come later this week.
