Guided tours will take place every 20 minutes from 2pm
The new home for the Department of Film, Theatre & TV on the Whiteknights campus, known as the Minghella Building, is opening its doors to all staff on the afternoon of Thursday 23 June.
The move to the Minghella Building marks a new chapter in the history of the Department, which has been a leader in its field for more than 40 years.
The Minghella Building, which is sited next to the Palmer Building, houses two studio theatres, a cinema, a film and television studio, edit suites, sound recording facilities and more.
Staff are invited to drop in to the foyer for tea or coffee from 1.45pm. Guided tours, led by Department staff, will take place every 20 minutes from 2pm. The last tour will depart at 3.40pm.
There is no need to book a tour time, but if you would like to attend please email events@reading.ac.uk.
The Minghella Building was named in honour of Anthony Minghella who sadly died in 2008. Perhaps best known for his hugely successful film directing career, which included The English Patient and The Talented Mr Ripley, Anthony Minghella was also an award-winning playwright, screenwriter and Honorary Graduate of the University.
