New peer support group for staff has a name
Monday, 11 July 2011
Congratulations to Sara Broad, Lecturer in the Institute of Education who has won an evening at Nirvana Spa for her inventive new name for the University's new peer support group.
In keeping with this strong commitment to employee health and well-being, the University is currently developing the peer support network. Earlier this year, we invited all staff to enter a competition to choose a name for this new group.
From the many suggestions that were received, the winning name that Sara devised for our group is HARC - Health, Advocacy, Respect, Care.
HARC will consist of trained members of staff that will be able to act as ‘listening posts'. They will have the knowledge and skills to direct any one that requires support to the correct resource within or outside the University.
HARC will be launched in the next academic year once the first group of staff have been trained. The ‘supporting you' website (see tab at top of this page) will show a list of HARC members that will be contactable for advice.
