New online teaching resources launched
Tuesday, 02 August 2011
Becky Morgan, Research Assistant in the school of Agriculture, Policy and Development ran a conference recently for staff who teach land-based subjects in Further Education colleges in the South of England.
The bespoke two-day residential conference was the culmination of a 3 year project aimed at improving the links between the University and further education colleges in the land-based subject areas.
Delegates were able to attend sessions informing them about current research at the University, take part in practical teaching activities and pay a visit to MERL.
This event also gave the opportunity to extend the University's collaboration with ‘VETNET Lifelong Learning Network' (LLN), a national network of veterinary schools, colleges and universities.
Delegates attended from a wide range of institutions including colleges, LLNs and the Horticultural Trades Association. It is hoped that the opportunities for networking over the two days will have been of great future benefit to the sector. Feedback from the event was very positive and requests were made for future continuing professional development events like this.
The School of Agriculture, Policy and Development has completed a 2 year project to create and distribute learning resources for teachers and lecturers in further education colleges in land based subjects. This project was funded by Progress South Central Lifelong Learning Network and these resources have now been released for use.:
