Erasmus Staff Mobility Training hosted by University
Tuesday, 09 August 2011
An Administrator from the University of Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3 in France, one of Reading's partner institutions, visited the University recently under the Erasmus Staff Mobility Training scheme. The purpose of her visit was to learn more about the organisation of a British university.
As Manager of the Legal Services of her institution, Stéphanie Delaunay was particularly interested in finding out about the University's Governance, Legal Services and Contracts, Alumni, Work Placements. Colleagues across those departments and other areas kindly agreed to talk her through their responsibilities.
As the visit happened during Graduation week Stéphanie was also given the opportunity to follow members of staff involved in the organisation of the event and was even offered a place in the Great Hall to watch a ceremony. This was quite an experience for Stéphanie as very few French institutions hold such events.
The visit was coordinated by Sandrine Pérou, Student Management Officer of Modern Languages and European Studies, who did an Erasmus Staff Mobility Training herself at Montpellier 3 in 2010 and would recommend it to any members of staff interested.
