University Social Club honours long-standing service

Thursday, 01 September 2011

Pam Jones

Pam Jones receiving a certificate in recognition for her long service to the University Social Club.

Longer-serving colleagues may remember Pam Jones, who worked in the Finance Directorate for 16 years, first in the Receipts Office and then in the Invoice Office, and who retired in 1993.

Pam has been a member of the Employees' Social Club and the University of Reading Bowls Club since well before her retirement, and as those who remember her can easily picture, has served those clubs in numerous ways throughout.

She has served on several committees and taken on much of the "back room" work; but has given most generously of her time as one of the Bowls Club coaches.

Pam has been involved in coaching for some twenty years now, and there are very few members of the Bowls Club who have not been helped by Pam when they began bowling.

The Social Club wanted to reward such service and so presented Pam with Honorary Life Membership of the Social Club on 10 August 2011.
