University proposals to develop site of Wells Hall on view
Wednesday, 07 September 2011
The University will be promoting its plans for the redevelopment of the redundant Wells Hall site on Upper Redlands Road in mid September.
The Hall, which was opened in the 1970s, has been closed for a number of years. Local residents, staff and other interested parties are invited to a public exhibition outlining the three potential development options.
Under the proposals, the existing hall buildings would be demolished, while retaining many of the key tree specimens, and the site would be developed for mainly large family-sized residences with houses set back from Upper Redlands Road.
Plans for the development are at an early stage and the exhibition will offer a chance to find out more about what the proposals and to talk to some of the team working on the project.
The exhibition is being held in the Estates Management Building (LO46) on the London Road Campus:-
Friday 16 September 3.00pm - 7.00pm
Saturday 17 September 10.00am - 1.00pm
The exhibition materials will also be on the University website Community pages from 16 September http://www.reading.ac.uk/about/about-local.aspx
