University welcomes visitors on fact-finding visit from Malaysia

The University welcomed a delegation from KPJ Healthcare Berhad and International University College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Malaysia recently. Both have ambitious plans for expansion, including the establishment of a medical school, following the recent conferment of University College status by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education. The visit to the University was part of a fact-finding tour of a number of UK institutions.
Already a client of Henley Business School, the delegation met with Dr Patricia Bossons and Dr Christine van Winkelen at Greenlands to discuss ongoing and planned new initiatives in leadership development, coaching and knowledge management. The delegation were particularly excited about becoming members of the Knowledge Management Forum at the business school.
The visit continued at the Whiteknights campus where the team from KPJ met with Pharmacy and Speech & Language specialists to discuss potential institutional collaboration.
Over lunch the delegation learnt about the University of Reading Malaysia development and explored potential teaching and research collaborations from Professor Rob Robson, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) and Provost, University of Reading Malaysia; Professor Steve Mithen Pro-Vice Chancellor (International and External Engagement) and Dr Martha-Marie Kleinhans, Vice Provost (Academic), University of Reading Malaysia,
Professor Mithen said; "We were honoured to host the visit and to contribute to the fact-finding mission. The University looks forward to continued discussions with KPJ as the University of Reading Malaysia project develops.
