University launches new initiatives to help staff on National Stress Awareness Day
Today is National Stress Awareness Day, which is now in its 13th year. It was created to increase awareness of stress and the health problems that result from it, and most importantly, to help and inform individuals who may be experiencing stress to seek guidance.
As part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing and supporting employee wellbeing, the University is pleased to announce the launch of its HARC Advisers Network. These are a group of staff who have volunteered to provide an informal and confidential support network for other staff at the University. HARC stands for "Health, Advocacy, Respect and Care". Individual profiles of the HARC Advisers are currently being uploaded on to the Equality and Diversity section of the HR website.
In addition to the launch of the HARC Advisers Network, the University's Centre for Staff Training and Development (CSTD) have added an online Useful Guide Library to their website. These resources can be used by any member of staff and include guides to Assertiveness, De-Stressing, Overcoming Anxiety, Self Management, Time Management and Work-Life Balance.
To download these Useful Guides and access the tips and tools please go to the CSTD website and click on the "Useful Guide Library" icon at the bottom left of the page. As this is only available to UoR staff, you will need to use your username and password to access the guides.
