New guidance for publishing audio and visual files online
Monday, 13 February 2012
New guidance for putting audio and video files online has been developed by the Digital Development team (DDT).
Working with the Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning (CDoTL) and IT Services, DDT have produced a document that explains the processes and policies that staff should follow when creating multimedia content for the web.
The document aims to remove barriers to getting multimedia content online and to help users publish their audio and video content in the right place as quickly as possible.
The guidance offers step-by-step instructions on planning multimedia projects and uploading audio and video files to Blackboard (for teaching and learning related content) and the University website (for externally facing content). The guide also covers acceptable file sizes and formats, copyright and consent, and provides decision making tools to help users understand if and when their project needs branding.
You can download the Audio and video guidance (pdf 478kb) from the University website. The link is also available in the Digital Development Advice and Guidance wiki on Blackboard.
