Any old china needed for Jubilee tea party!

'All donations, no matter how big or small, will be gratefully received!'
This year is the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, marking her 60 years on the throne, and in celebration, the University has given the Museum of English Rural Life's annual Village Fete a Jubilee theme. MERL are hoping to serve special ‘Jubilee Teas' but they need your help to ensure there is enough to go round...
Rob Davies, MERL's Volunteer Coordinator and member of the fete organisation committee said: "We would love to be able to serve delicious ‘Jubilee Teas', cakes and scones on crockery suitable for the celebrations at the Fete! Usually at our events we use disposable cups and plates, but these aren't very environmentally friendly or aesthetically pleasing, so we've launched our 'Any old china?' campaign.
"Clear out your cupboards, browse the charity shops or raid a car boot sale to find unwanted cups, plates, sugar bowls, milk jugs, tea pots and cake stands to help us kit out the tea tent. All donations, no matter how big or small, will be gratefully received, and as a token of our thanks we'll give anyone who makes a donation a free ticket to the Fete!"
The MERL Jubilee Village Fete will take place on Saturday 9 June, and is open to staff, students, and members of the public. As well as ‘Jubilee Teas', there will be morris dancers, traditional games, tractors, face painting, a beer tent, hog roast along with lots of other family-friendly activities.
It is taking place between 10am-4.30pm, and tickets cost £2.50 per adult, free for children.
Take your donations to the Museum during normal opening times to receive your free Village Fete ticket voucher.
