Professor Ellis honoured by Academy
Monday, 30 April 2012
Congratulations to Professor Judi Ellis, Head of the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Studies who has been recognised by the Academy of Social Sciences (ASS) for her significant contribution to the social sciences.
The ASS is the ‘voice of the social sciences in the UK'. Its mission is to promote social sciences in the United Kingdom for the public benefit and Professor Ellis will be formally welcomed as an Academician of the Academy at a meeting in early July.
The Academy is composed of over 700 Individual Academicians and 43 Learned Societies. Academicians are distinguished scholars and practitioners from academia and the public and private sectors.
Being an Academician means that a peer group has reviewed the standing and impact of Professor Ellis's work and found her contribution to social science 'broad-ranging and worthy of the conferment of the award'.
