Plastic bottles needed for nursery greenhouse

Thursday, 28 June 2012

Bottle greenhouse

If you have any two litre bottles you can donate, please drop them off in the Hub in the Students' Union

Students from Reading University Volunteering Society are building a greenhouse for the Little Learners Nursery on the Whiteknights campus, out of plastic bottles... but they need your help!

The project began in Student Volunteering Week in February and the team are just 150 bottles short of finishing. If you have any two litre bottles you can donate to help them reach the end, please drop them off in the Hub in the Students' Union - there is a collection bin in the reception area.

When complete, the greenhouse will be used to expand the vegetable growing already taking place in the nursery, enabling the children to enjoy even more ‘grown on campus' produce, at meal times.

Please contact Emily Shaw, RUSU Societies and Volunteer Coordinator for more information - emily.shaw@reading.ac.uk.
