Language summer schools at Whiteknights

'We would like to say a big thank you to all University colleagues who are involved in the summer schools.'
This summer will once again see the arrival of three language schools, with young people travelling from all over the world to the Whiteknights campus.
The summer schools hire accommodation and rooms around the campus to give children the opportunity to learn English in a structured environment, utilising many of the University's facilities and generating over £1 million of annual income.
Staff from many areas of the University are involved in making the summer schools a success, including portering, cleaning, catering and SportsPark staff, as well as number of academic departments. UPP are also working closely with Venue Reading to provide accommodation.
This year three members of the Venue Reading team are working with both summer school staff and colleagues around the University. Matt Blake, Venue Reading Conference and Events Co-ordinator, said: "We would like to say a big thank you to all colleagues who are involved in the summer schools. This year we have introduced a Service Level Agreement to complement the usual booking contracts, which acts as an agreed guide for the summer school staff and the various departments of the University who deal with them, to help ensure that things run as smoothly as possible.
"If you have any issues or questions concerning the language schools, please do get in touch with us!"
