New Professor in Sustainable Construction

The University is delighted to announce the appointment of John Connaughton in the School of Construction Management and Engineering.
John joins the University from Davis Langdon, global construction consultants where he has been a Director. He joined the firm in 1985 and was a founder partner of Davis Langdon's very successful consultancy practice.
Professor Connaughton has been in the construction sector for over 30 years, 25 of which have been in management and related consultancy.
His involvement in sustainability in construction dates back to the mid 1980s when he advised the Department of Energy on the economic impacts of passive solar design. Sustainability has always been at the heart of Professor Connaughton's work and he has a well-earned reputation as being one of the nation's leaders in this area.
Professor Connaughton said: "While I am very excited about my new role at the University, I feel very privileged to have worked with a succession of genuine industry leaders in my time with Davis Langdon."
