New Professor in Meteorology

Professor Peter Clark

The University is delighted to welcome, Professor Peter Clark who has been appointed from 1 October 2012 as the Joint Met Office Chair in Weather Processes.

Professor Clark's research interests cover a variety of topics relevant to understanding and forecasting atmospheric phenomena.

These include the initiation, development and predictability of convective storms, mechanisms for the development of extreme winds in extra-tropical cyclones, very stable flows in complex terrain and the representation of urban areas in weather models.

Professor Clark joins us from the University of Surrey.
