Update your knowledge on Equality and Diversity

As part of the University's commitment to equality in the workplace, staff are requested to undertake the online training module, Diversity in the Workplace.
The University is proud to have a diverse community of staff and students and strives to ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, is able to reach their full potential whilst studying or working at the University.
Diversity in the Workplace is an e-learning module that updates staff on the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and provides information about the University's Equality Objectives. Completion of the module will enable the University to fully support its students and staff, and meet its commitment.
The tool has been revised and staff are requested to complete it during the 2012/13 academic year. If you have completed the module after September 2011 you do not need to do so again.
The course: -
- Provides an informative overview of all aspects of equality and diversity;
- Gives examples of good practice;
- Summarises the law, particularly the changes to equality legislation following the introduction of the Equality Act 2010; and
- Will equip user with the tools to apply equality and diversity in their current and future roles.
To access the module, go to http://bit.ly/wDwMJU and enter your University username and password. You will then be taken to the "My Training Plan" page, from where you can begin the course by selecting "Begin Course" from the "Diversity in the Workplace eLearning" row of the on-line courses offered. The module can be left and returned to at any stage before completion.
