Involved in coaching?

we are keen to hear from anyone who has been involved in coaching as part of their job role
As part of the Promoting Excellence Project we are considering ways to enhance leadership and management capability at the University. A small working group is specifically considering the use of coaching at the University.
Coaching is often used as a professional or personal development tool, helping to meet organisational goals and objectives whilst taking into account the personal development needs of the individual.
Some colleagues have had coaching from an external coach, and we are aware that there are a number of coaching interactions that take place within the University.
We are keen to understand more about these engagements, their purpose, and how well they have achieved their aims. This will help us to have a better picture about the full range of activity taking place and what we can do to better support and utilise it in the future.
We would like to hear from any member of staff who has received coaching as part of their job role and also from members of staff who are trained as coaches or are considering undertaking training in coaching.
Please e-mail workingtogether@reading.ac.uk just telling us that you are happy to provide us with further information. Alternatively you can speak to John Brady, Ruth Busby or Caroline Bryan in Human Resources.
