A new year, new challenges: a video message from the Vice-Chancellor

Friday, 05 October 2012

Vice-Chancellor Sir David Bell

As the University is once again placed in the top 1% of the world's universities, and as we welcome the first generation of Home/EU students paying £9,000 per year for their degree, the Vice-Chancellor talks about the importance of ensuring that Reading remains a place of exciting opportunities for its students.

He talks of the forthcoming challenges for the University; preparing for the Research Excellence Framework, the importance of attracting international students and the University's financial position.

The Vice-Chancellor also speaks about the fundamental importance of attracting students to apply for autumn 2013 and the role all staff can play in making sure that those students applying choose Reading as their first choice university.

Sir David will be talking to staff in person at his Vice-Chancellor's talks in the next few weeks. All staff are welcome to attend.
