All staff and students are invited to an act of remembrance

Thursday, 01 November 2012

All members of the University, staff and students, are welcome to gather together on Friday 9 November

11 November is an opportunity for the nation to remember those who have lost their lives in conflict. This year, the University will hold its own act of remembrance on Friday 9 November for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice on the country's behalf.

We can remember too those within the University community who have died over the past year. Such a ceremony, with its minute's silence, also offers a chance to reflect on close family and friends who are no longer with us.

The University's Anglican Chaplain, Mark Laynesmith will lead the 15 minute ceremony which will include the traditional lowering of the Union flag.

All members of the University, staff and students, are welcome to gather around the flag pole between the Library and Whiteknights House at 10.50am on Friday 9 November 2012.
