'It's great to be able to support this wonderful charity and help to bring some happiness to children and teens at Christmas'
The University has been overwhelmed with generous donations from staff and students for the annual Christmas toy appeal for the Reading Chronicle's Toys & Teens campaign with Reading Family Aid. This is the third year the university has collected presents on behalf of the charity
University staff including Emma Lambden, Carol Prior and Caroline Norris organised a Christmas collection of toys and other gifts that will be given to children in the local area who may otherwise get very little this Christmas. Donated gifts included games, books, DVDs, toys, CDs, fashion accessories and toiletries.
Sir David Bell, Vice-Chancellor, University of Reading said: "I have been so impressed by the generosity of staff and students who have donated some really fantastic gifts. It's great to be able to support this wonderful charity and help to bring some happiness to children and teens at Christmas. I'd like to thank all the university staff that helped to organised the appeal, and to everyone who donated a present."
