A University-wide Working Group chaired by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Gavin Brooks has identified a number of drivers for changing the current structure of the academic year from three academic terms of 10 weeks.
Please take your opportunity to attend a consultation session open to all staff on the possible impact of changing the structure of the academic year.
Staff may attend one of the scheduled consultation sessions below. Each session will consist of a short presentation from Professor Gavin Brooks Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) followed by an opportunity to ask any questions. There is no need to book onto these sessions.
- Thursday 17 January 12.30-1.30pm Palmer G10, Whiteknights
- Tuesday 29 January 12.30-1.30pm LO22 G01, London Road
- Tuesday 5 February 11.00am National Grid Lecture Theatre, Greenlands*
*please note that this will follow immediately after the Vice-Chancellor's talk.
Such a change in the structure of our academic year represents an important change to the student experience at Reading and your feedback is vital. In particular, on how this might affect your work-life balance, your research time or your teaching time and specifically the affect of introducing either of the two options outlined on the Consultation web page here.
