Catherine achieves highest worldwide score in ACCA examinations

Catherine Coleman, a Research Finance Administrator for the schools of Mathematical and Physical Sciences and Construction Management and Engineering and a graduate of the University, has achieved the highest worldwide mark for her F4 paper in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) examinations.

The examination is one of fourteen that Catherine must complete in order to become a qualified accountant, with this particular paper testing her knowledge of corporate and business law. The ACCA accountancy qualifications are one of the most recognised in the world, and Catherine has managed to achieve a phenomenal 99% in the paper. Catherine has achieved consistently across her ACCA examinations so far and has also achieved 91% in her Performance management paper.

Such a remarkable achievement does not go unrewarded, and Catherine has been given a prize of £200 from ACCA and a certificate to commemorate her success. Such an achievement will open many doors for Catherine, providing her with a fantastic start to her financial career.

Catherine graduated from the University of Reading in 2008 with a first class degree in Chemistry and Forensic Analysis, and currently balances studying for her examinations with her work at the University. For the rest of her examinations she will attend evening courses and fit her study around work by studying during lunchtimes and in the evenings. She hopes to be fully qualified within two to three years and is looking forward to all the opportunities that her recent success will offer her in her career, whether in industry or practice.
