New Chair in Film: Professor L├║cia Nagib
Monday, 25 March 2013
The University is pleased to announce that Professor Lúcia Nagib will be taking up a Chair in Film in the Department of Film, Theatre and Television on 1 April 2013.
Professor Nagib's research has primarily focused on polycentric approaches to world cinema, new waves and new cinemas, cinematic realism and intermediality.
Professor Nagib currently leads the International Mixed Cinema Network (MCN), which looks at how cinema incorporates all other strategies of arts. The MCN states that cinema is a fundamentally interdisciplinary area of study, and principally concentrates on Japanese cinema to contribute a novel approach and an alternative to Hollywood-World Cinema.
The University is keen to expand its international foundations, and so fully supports Professor Nagib and the MCN in all its current and future endeavours.
