Another language added to the choice offered to staff
Monday, 09 September 2013
The University's Institution-Wide Language Programme (IWLP) has recently added Portuguese to its extensive programme of languages available to staff at Reading.
Every year the IWLP offers a variety of modern foreign languages: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), English (for Erasmus students), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. Two years ago in response to the request of students Russian was introduced. This year IWLP are introducing Portuguese.
Over 230 million people across the world speak Portuguese, making it one of the most widely spoken languages spoken in four continents and is the official language of eight countries.
