Can you help the Christmas toy appeal by Friday 6 December?
Sunday, 01 December 2013
University staff and students are once again supporting the annual Christmas toy appeal for the Reading Chronicle's Toys & Teens campaign with Reading Family Aid.
The campaign aims to collect donations from around Reading, to be given to children in the local area who may otherwise get very little this Christmas.
If you would like to take part, you can donate a toy or item that could be used as a gift for either a child or a teenager. Items should be in new or good quality used condition (the type of condition you would like to receive as a gift). Suggestions include:
- Gifts suitable for children up to 16 years old - they are particularly short of gifts for teenagers.
- Craft type activities
- Games, puzzles, books, DVDs, toys, dressing up items, dolls
- CDs, DVDs, T-shirts, sports gear, belts, handbags, jewellery, toiletries, makeup, gift vouchers for shops in which teenagers may like to shop.
Whilst very generous, computer games are not recommended as the children will be unlikely to have a games console.
Please do not wrap the gifts.
Gifts can be dropped off at the following locations until Friday 6 December.
- Carrington building foyer - during office hours)
- Reception of building L16 at the London Road campus (next to Eat and Drink at London Road) - from 8.30am to 12.30pm
