New staff search now live

A new staff directory and search function has launched this week, making it easier to find colleagues' contact details, and enabling users to edit their own telephone number.
The directory has been merged with the Trent HR system meaning that individual staff names, job titles and departments will be populated straight from Trent, and new members of staff will be automatically included in the directory. This removes the need for requests for people to be added to the directory or to change existing details, and ensures that the data is more accurate and up to date.
Improvements have also been made to the search function, so it is now possible to search by first name, job title and department, as well as combinations of these search terms.
The search can be accessed via the search box in the top right hand corner of the Staff Portal and http://www.reading.ac.uk/search.
You will have received an email from HR containing the work telephone number that is on record for you - if you haven't already, please check whether this is correct (in the email or by searching for yourself in the directory), and if not log in to Employee Self Service to amend it.
