Car parking on the Whiteknights campus
Wednesday, 12 February 2014
Message from Estates and Facilities with regards to parking on the Whiteknights campus:
We are very aware that car parking on the Whiteknights campus is currently even more challenging than usual and we'd like to give you an update on the situation.
The Whiteknights Utilities Project will continue to have an effect on car parks at Whiteknights:
- Car park 12, which has already had some spaces removed, will be completely closed from 24 February until Easter, as trenching will take place in the car park itself
- The logistics of the project have been reconsidered, and spaces in car park 8 and the Minghella/AMS car park will not now be used for construction works.
See up to date information and project map >>>
Staff are reminded that they are permitted to park in halls car parks (see map); whilst we appreciate that this will not help everyone, there will be a greater number of spaces available which some colleagues may be able to take advantage of.
Things to consider
- Visit Days and other events often fall on Wednesdays, so please consider using forms of transport other than the car on these days if at all possible
- During poor weather there is an increase in demand for parking
- Please try and park responsibly by not leaving large gaps between cars or taking up more than one space
- Please do not block emergency access routes.
Visitor spaces for events
When Security receives a request to reserve a significant number of spaces for visitors to an event/conference/non-centralised Visit Day at Whiteknights, spaces will now generally be allocated in car park 3. We will provide pre-warnings of car park 3 closure/significant restrictions to staff via notices on the Staff Portal.
See the parking website for more information about visitor parking.
