Carmina Burana, composed by Orff in the 1930s, is a cantata composed for voice in Latin, German and French, and based on the 24 poems of the medieval poem collection of the same name. All 25 movements will be performed by the University of Reading Chorus, conducted by Joanna Bywater.
The concert will start with the well-known and dramatic ‘O Fortuna' and end with the piece ‘Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi'.
