Stonewall Workplace Equality Index - have your say

Monday, 14 July 2014

Stonewall logo

Since joining Stonewall as a Diversity Champion earlier this year, the University is now participating in Stonewall's 2015 Workplace Equality Index for the first time.

This will give useful insights into the strengths of the work that we do to provide an inclusive working environment and the areas in which we need to develop our approach further.

All organisations participating in the Index are asked to invite their employees, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and heterosexual, to fill in a questionnaire giving feedback directly to Stonewall on their experiences of working at the University.

Take the short questionnaire >>> (enter the code ‘717')

If you have any questions about the University's participation in the Workplace Equality Index please contact Ruth Busby, Deputy Director of Human Resources r.c.busby@reading.ac.uk.

LGBT Plus

June 2014 also saw the launch of LGBT Plus, a staff support network for individuals identifying as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender. There was a great turnout at the inaugural event and the current network lead, Dr Andrew Mangham will be organising a steering committee and events programme for 2014-5.

This important initiative, organised by colleagues for colleagues, is supported by the University Executive Board and forms part of Reading's ambition to embed support and representation for equality and diversity.

Further information about LGBT Plus can be obtained by contacting a.s.mangham@reading.ac.uk.
