Each year the University marks Armistice Day with a brief service of memorial, during which we also remember colleagues and students who have passed away over the last year.

This year is, of course, a significant year in the memory of the nation. To mark the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War and to remember all those who have died in warfare since, all members of our community, staff and students, are invited to attend one of the three short services led by the University's Chaplains across our campuses:

London Road  Memorial clock tower

In memory of the University's fallen students and staff, the War Memorial bell will toll 144 times; once for each soldier killed during the First World War.

Greenlands      Flagpole near cattle grid

Whiteknights Flagpole between the library and Whiteknights House

All members of the University, staff and students, are welcome to gather at the most convenient location for them at 10.50am on Tuesday 11 November 2014.
