Response to staff consultation on draft Charter and Ordinances

Monday, 12 January 2015

Whiteknights Shield

Whiteknights Shield

In the autumn term, we consulted all staff on the proposed changes to the University of Reading's Charter and Ordinances. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read through the detailed proposals and respond. You asked questions about academic freedom; concerns over independence, employment policies; and the consultation process itself.

Today we publish a summary of the University's response to these, including the changes we have made as a result of your feedback.

The draft Charter and Ordinances will go to Council late January for final approval and, subject to Privy Council approval, the changes will be implemented on 1 August 2015.
