Green Week 2015 : 9-13 February
Tuesday, 10 February 2015
To celebrate Green Week this year, the University and RUSU have teamed up and put together an exciting schedule of events to appeal to both staff and students.
The week starts with the Big Green Race in 3Sixty on Monday 9 February where at 1pm the Pro-VC Prof. Robert Van der Noort will take on the President of RUSU in a race to demonstrate who can be the greenest! Why not come along at lunchtime and cheer them both on? RUSU will also be giving away vegetarian treats in support of meat free Monday and we will have our Big Green Sofa on hand so you can tell us why being green is important to you!
Other highlights during the week include...
Energy Busters: Spotted something wasting energy in your office or department? Get our energy busters to come and take a look at it. Call us on 0118 378 4755 or email us on Tuesday 10 or Thursday 11 February at carboncountdown@reading.ac.uk and one of our Energy Busters will pop out and see you as soon as possible
Green Fingers Get Crafty: A green crafts afternoon in 3Sixty where you can make environmentally friendly lip balm and a bee hotel
Inside out Bins where some of the recycling stations are in disguise

In 2011, the University made a commitment to reduce its carbon emissions by 35% by July 2016 and the Carbon Management Plan written in collaboration with the Carbon Trust, outlines how this will be achieved. We are making really good progress but we need your help as we approach the target date!
