The Julia Boorman Award 2014/15
Tuesday, 24 February 2015
The Student Financial Support Team is very pleased to announce the first Julia Boorman Award. This award was created to support disabled students from specific study areas with additional costs associated with undertaking travel abroad in connection with their programme of study.
We are very aware that these awards can make a huge difference. The recipient said “The Julia Boorman Award has allowed me to travel to one of the most wonderful places in the world. Enabling me to fund my travel expenses and art materials whilst abroad. Coming from a not so wealthy background this meant that I was able to have the opportunity to learn new things that will stay with me forever and I would not have been able to do so without this award.”
We would like to congratulate the award recipient and once again extend our gratitude for the generous bequest from Dr Julia Boorman who was a Senior Lecturer in Education and Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Education and Community Studies.
